The University of South Carolina and Louisiana State University are going head-to-head in a battle off the football field—one that’s all about fighting hunger. This friendly, but fierce competition from October 1–11 will challenge both schools to collect the most donations for their campus food pantries before the Gamecocks and Tigers face off on game day. Every can of food and every dollar makes a difference.

How Your Support Helps
Support the Gamecock CommUnity Shop Basic Needs pantry
Student stacking care packages in USC Food Pantry

The Gamecock CommUnity Shop is USC’s main food and basic needs pantry, dedicated to making sure no student has to choose between their education and their next meal. Last year, the Shop served more than 12,000 students with food, clothing, and other essentials. Demand continues to grow, with visits up 300% in the past year. Nearly half of USC students experience food insecurity, and your support ensures they have the resources they need to succeed. When you give, you’re stocking shelves, providing meals, and strengthening the Carolina community.

Let’s prove that Carolina can win not only on the football field but also in the fight against student hunger.

Support the LSU Food Pantry

The LSU Food Pantry provides free supplemental food to students, helping them focus on academic success and community building on campus. It serves as a critical support system, currently serving nearly 2,000 students and seeing up to 350 visits each day. This academic year alone, we’ve distributed more than 250,000 pounds of food. Still, demand exceeds supply. Your donations make it possible for us to purchase additional items and meet the growing needs of our students.
