Founded in 2015 through a generous gift from Jeffrey S. Smolka, the Smolka Family Rugby Scholarship Endowment has provided substantial financial support to more than 100 Gamecock rugby players. Since it was founded, the incremental financial aid extended through the program has exceeded $1.5 million.
The fund has provided more scholarships annually than any other U.S. rugby program. And it allows our scholarship families to save an average of $10,000 in net tuition costs each year.
It’s a huge recruiting advantage. And it softens the financial burden of paying for college.
We encourage everyone – particularly alumni who have benefitted from this program – to support the Smolka Family Rugby Scholarship Fund and celebrate Jeff’s enduring legacy.
